What I wanted to do was to create a trend - green, green, green, green then suddenly a blue dot would appear. I went for a minimalistic approach, using white as my background to make the colours stand out more. I suppose what I want my photo to show would be to that we sould start with the little things in life, like individually saving water, before taking the next step. Clean water would be our gift to the next generation.
And just maybe, blue will slowly be the new green.

-BLUE+GREEN=COMPLETENESS-

A range of alternative energy technologies are available to us today; there is, however, no substitute for water. As water is cheap(at least for now) and seemingly in infinite supply, efforts to deter its overuse have been inadequate. Failures in water-related infrastructure result in lost biodiversity and environmental degradation. The blue and the green are mutually dependent. We need water to plant trees and these trees in turn enhance water in the form of rainfall. So they together form a suitable habitat for all life forms.

Water is synonymous with life. It is necessary for our survival and so we must conserve it. Therefore let us conserve water for our own good and for that of our future generations.

Some people say "Blue is the new Green". As green has gone mainstream, blue is just the next thing.

-Lines-

The title of this photograph, "Lines" is due to the fact that there are, lines across the photograph. The clear bold lines, I feel represent that people on earth do not totally understand the true importance of water. Water is as gold, but majorities do not think so. Many wastefully use it, and don't think of how that wastage would affect the earth. The contrast between the bold lines and the sky(blending in with the ocean) highlight the ignorance of people pertaining to this issue. Hence I believe this photograph is suitable for the theme "Blue is the new Green".

-Railing of Life-

This photograph focuses on the raindrops on the railing and the trees in the background. This picture shows how rain that represents blue is significant in helping the trees in nature, to grow. The trees give out life and hope with the help of rain that gives the trees life.

-Thunderclouds-

In the world outside, thunderclouds gather. it is a reminder of the power of nature we can harness, but not control. The world will soon unleash its raging anger upon mankind for years of abuse and neglect. However, as cool rain falls onto the earth, we will remember that there is yet a way out. Water is life; we can use the tears of our earth to save it. Revive, rejuvenate, restore.

-Peace-

The colour blue is often used as a symbol of peace.

As evening settles silently, a glance out of the window reminds one of the timeless beauty of the earth spread beneath our feet. The blue emanates gently, a nudging reminder of a world outside the window waiting patiently to be restored. Peace. It is all we need to nurse the wounds of our breaking earth.

-Water Supports Life-

Water supports life, the life of aquatic plants which reside in the watery environment provided by the pond. Blue is represented by the water, green is represented by the plants. When plants undergo photosynthesis, they take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen, which is necessary for our survival. When the water is gone, the plant will be gone, a source of the earth's oxygen will be gone. Therefore, conserve water, save the plants, be eco-friendly. BLUE IS THE NEW GREEN!

-Upon The Green-

The flower, it grows on a pond. Its massive lily pads spreading out in a fan-life shape. this flower grows where the pond is, where the water is found. This shows us that beautiful specimens can be found, where water is. If we do not conserve water, we would lose beautiful specimens like this. When these specimens are lost, it would never be seen again on this earth again, as environmental depletion is difficult to reverse. So, conserve water so that these species will continue to flourish the earth.

-A Great Biodiversity-

Water is essential for the creation of a great biodiversity. They have to co-exist in order to support the life found in the water.
This is a picture of plants which grow on water. Hence, we can deduce the relationship between the water and the plants. They work together in harmony to ensure the survival of the living organisms found in this eco-system. We need to conserve water as water is essential for the survival of a great biodiversity. When water is gone, the plants and living organisms will be gone.

Blue and green are a family of colours. Green is a child of blue-when added to yellow, blue makes green. In nature, the simple representation of a tree backed by the sky blends all colours together. It shows how important saving the environment-water too-is, to secure the continual existence of such simple beauty. To appreciate life, we must keep it as it is lest we destroy it.

-Quenching Mother Nature's Thirst-

Frozen in time or frozen in thought. Water has never looked precious in your cup. If we pause to think about the each shimmer and sparkle of individual water droplets captured here, allowing them to manifest its beauty and importance to us, maybe we would truly cherish water one day. The watering can, at the top left hand corner of the pictures is likened to human kind; using water wisely and carefully, giving it back to our good earth. Saving water is the way to go; saving water is saving the earth.

One of the current "hot-topics" around the globe is "global warming":hence, there is a great emphasis on saving trees and the environment. However, many of us do not realise that with this great emphasis on "going green:, we are neglecting another pressing issue- the lack of clean water. This photograph shows that water is the source of plants' growth, and without water, we will have no "clean and green" environment to talk about. Therefore, before we pay so much attention to deforestation and the wastage of paper, let us consider the more important need of clean water.
